Conversations With Nature

The Moon sailed through the night sky,

Showering his path with golden light,

Where are you off to, O Lord of the Night?

Won't you stay awhile for a chat?

But the Moon sailed away, I am busy these nights,

No time for chit chats with you,

My beautiful light, to shine for few more days

Before I wane and disappear from sight.

I smile as I stand under the neem tree,

Mild breeze blows through her thick boughs,

Respite for hot summer nights,

Many thanks, O Lord of the Winds,

Can you spare a minute of your time?

But the breeze blew, I am busy these nights,

No time for chit chats with you,

Many creatures await My Grace,

Shadowed from merciless summer nights,

They seek a night's peaceful slumber,

I bless tired beings with healing rest,

Before I wane and still for the day.

I seek your blessings, O Lord of the Night,

I seek your grace, O Lord of the Winds,

Restless mind, filled with thoughts from busy days,

Find peace, in the silence of Mother Nature at night,

Stay, please spare a minute of your time.

Thus spake the Lord of Winds:

It's long past midnight, all beings safe in slumber,

You haunt your garden, sleepless nights you wander,

Morning birds will wake shortly and chirp,

As the Lord of the Day rides his chariot, Mankind will wake and go to work.

Thus spake the Lord of the Night:

We know what ails you, Little One,

They are, but mild problems, man made,

Your troubles, though genuine are light,

With courage, faith and time, they will fade.

New days bring new problems,

Puzzles to solve, challenges to face,

But many if those are like me,

And so, they will wax and wane.

You gaze at us from afar,

But We bade you go and rest,

We bless you with sleep,

As We bless all beings to rest.
